About the Author

Nick Drake is the author of Nefertiti and Tutankhamun, the first two books in the Rahotep detective trilogy. He has published two award-winning collections of poetry, and his play was performed at the National Theater in London. His screenplays include the critically acclaimed Romulus, My Father (starring Eric Bana), which won Best Film at the Australian Film Awards in 2007. He lives in London.

As part of the Rahotep trilogy Egypt: The Book of Chaos focuses on Tutankhamun's widow. The period details are well-placed and the mystery is a good one. Students of history may not find this entirely believable, but those willing to suspend disbelief will enjoy the trip. Good fiction set in Ancient Egypt is hard to find, but this does well.

Pretty good mystery.

Just finishing reading the trilogy on Ancient Egypt, featuring Rahotep, the Detective and main character of the three books. The first book NEFERTITI was a little slow, and it seemed as if Rahotep was a modern day detective placed in an ancient setting. That being the case, some of the things he said and did were out of place. However, in the next two books, Drake picked up the pace and I must say that I enjoyed the last two books. His writing style improved and The Book Of Chaos was my favorite. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot and I hope that the author has more plans for Rahotep in the future.

Drake's third is also a winner!

"Egypt: the Book of Chaos" is the third in the trilogy featuring Rahotep, chief detective of the Thebes Medjay, during the 18th Dynasty some 33 centuries ago. Nick Drake, as with the previous two, "Nefertiti" and "Tutankhamun," captures well the spirit, the landscape and atmosphere, and the suspense of the time and place of that historically significant age.

Drake's Rahotep is a fascinating, and fully developed, central character, a "police procedural," as it were, set within the excitement, the political maneuverings, and history-setting situations of the time. Rahotep is also human and suffers the same feelings, successes, and failures of ordinary human beings. His role as a Medjay policeman offers him unique challenges--and dangers. After all, it was a dangerous time. Tutankhamun, the Boy Pharoah, has died (and under mysterious circumstances) and the whole kingdom is teetering on revolution, treason, and great upheaval. His widow, the Queen Ankhesenamun, has employed (and implored) Rahotep's assistance. The intrigue grows from here--and the plot becomes, of course, deadly.

General Horemheb is poised to take over, to implement martial law, and destroy the dynasty. Drake's book is filled with political intrigue (setting up an alliance with archenemy the Hittites to consolidate the queen's power and thus foil Horemheb's plans, among others. (Historians know the real results, of course.)

One doesn't have to be a history buff to appreciate, even to enjoy, this novel (although it helps to know a little about the history of this time). It was with a welcome moment when I found this, the third, book published. Here's to more of Rahotep, Mr. Drake.

Please do not confuse the terms leader and manager that we try to explain in this book, with the name of the job/position where you are currently working/ are employed. Maybe you are in a position called manager, but in reality you are somehow acting like a leader. Only you can make the judgment of this.
Another aspect that we want to draw attention upon, until we proceed further, is the fact that there is no official position anywhere in the world, that we can call leader. Nobody in the world has ever signed a contract that stipulates something like "hired in the leadership position" or “acting as a leader”. But there are many labor contracts signed with "hired in the position of manager". Basically, there may be many leaders labeled as managers.
It is up to you as an individual to evaluate yourself based on indications and hints from this book, or other materials that you read, to think how you are behaving during your daily activities. Therefore, after reading this book, you will have a clearer vision to show you if you act more as a leader or more as a manager. Clearly-written and well dome analysis

This extremely-readable and to-the-point book should be read by anyone with a business major. The author is part of her nation's [pst= state economy generation, but she understands people and how to work with them, not to boss them around. Leaders inspire others to share their passion and work cooperatively. Managers pass along directives and expect them to be carried out.
