Can't Find Better

I took many courses with Georgia Heard when I was a graduate student at Columbia University. She changed my life as a teacher and writer. I cannot stop writing poetry and fiction because of her. Nor can I squelch my desire to work with students (primary school through adult ed) on their own poems.

The products of my students' writing and my own writing knock the pants off practically anyone who has a heart. Thank you, Georgia, for helping so much fantastic stuff to blossom.

All of her books are jewels. This book in particular is a steamer trunk packed with a zillion ways one can look at the revision process.

Buy the book and use it. See Georgia in person when she speaks at conferences. Write your hearts out, then re-read this book and write some more.

Revision Is Not A Bad Word!

Georgia Heard has created an exceptional guide for teaching students the revision process of writing! Her knowledge and skill are clearly apparent as she leads you, the teacher, through what can be an otherwise overwhelming task. With "The Revision Toolbox," Georgia Heard makes it easy to see how her ideas make sense and how they will work. This text is extremely teacher friendly. The book design can be easily implemented into classroom mini-lessons, one-on-one conferences and centers that students rotate to. Heard provides reference guides for student use, she also uses many examples from student writing and her own in order to model the instructional ideas. This book can enable you to empower your students to enjoy the writing process!

This is a great book--it gives one a picture of both the "Golden Age" of porn and a detailed biography of a fascinating women that is revelatory and very moving. Juliet Anderson emerges as a complex figure, who on the one hand experienced a number of painful events, but who also viewed the world in a very life-affirming manner. It is thoroughly researched, well written, and a pleasure to read. Anyone interested in the history of the porn industry and/or the story of an interesting figure will find this book genuinely rewarding.

Well-conveyed

Over-reliance in many spiritual texts on enigmatic wording does not inherently promote understanding of what cannot be directly spoken. This book is perhaps slightly less poetic - and certainly less cryptic - than most translations of the Tao Te Ching. And it is a welcome tradeoff for it's well-conveyed manner. (I have not read other translations of the Hua Hu Ching for comparison, so I will not comment on that part of the book.)
With plain, direct, and gentle wording he gracefully illuminates. Yet, it is so worded such that each passage still leaves a silence at the end of it, offering the reader the space to dwell on that which cannot be put into words.

Top notch intricate coloring book, a MUST HAVE!

It just came in the mail and already I'm extremely excited to sit down and color this book. Here's the nitty gritty.
There are six pages that are repeated from Between the Lines: An Expert Level Coloring Book. A few have minor design changes, but over 90% of the page is the same in some of these repeated pages.
Quality control issues from the last book have been almost completely resolved. Lines are crisp and defined. There are a few pages in which the black lines fade a bit-it looks like inconsistent printing, but I suppose that could "possibly" be on purpose.

The new pages are greatly varied, some naturescapes, some mechanical, others truly 'random' and creative...what we have come to expect from Peter Deligdisch. This book is well suited to gel pens, or well sharpened colored pencils. I keep a few very thin black pens, like Sakura Pigma Micron 0.1, to trace over lines that need it, so my finished page is colored, crisp, and neat.

Crazy and wild designs for lots of coloring fun

"Color Me Crazy" is my first adult color book by Peter Deligdisch. After another reviewer stated that the designs were on both sides of the page, I was happy and surprised to see that my book came with designs printed on only one side. The quality of the paper is good (though not a heavy weight) and it is a bright white. The only thing lacking is perforated edges - I wish more companies did this but it doesn't look like it would be too difficult to remove the pages from the glued edge binding.

There are 44 designs in this color book. They are all quite wild and imaginative. There are a couple which have a sort of faded out look to the right hand side of the page. I don't know if that is intentionally part of the design or if the print quality went askew with those few designs. Depending on how I color those pages, I may re-inforce the faded look or remove it by adding more color to the outlines.

While all of the designs appear to have a sort of "doodle" quality to them (if you can doodle this intricately and creatively - which I cannot), they are done in a variety of different styles. I really like this as it gives me a choice of styles depending on my mood on a particular day. The designs in the book appeal to both my husband to and to me - which is not always true with various adult coloring books. Due to the intricacies of the various designs, I will certainly keep my magnifying lamp handy while I am working on this book.

As I would expect from the thinness of the paper in the book, all of my gel pens and markers bleed through. I will use freezer paper in between the sheets (if I am keeping it in the book) or under the page if I remove it from the book. I find that it works well for me. You can also put multiple sheets of heavy stock paper in between if you don't have freezer paper handy (it is sold at most grocery stores and is fairly inexpensive and can be reused.)

The Best Most Detail Coloring Book

This is my favorite adult coloring book. It might not be for everyone, but for detail and tedious oriented person like me, coloring complicated patterns has calming and relaxing feeling.
