Shows promise from a debut author
By J.
First and foremost, I applaud Konstanz Silverbow for following her dream and writing a book. I think this book is classified as paranormal young adult fiction. While the book certainly has a lot of paranormal elements, I personally feel it was more of a romance--albeit a young adult one. The book is written in first person, present tense which adds to the immediacy and intimacy of the main character. Christina is a seventeen-year-old girl, sort of. She is a demon, sort of. I'd explain what I mean but "sort of," but I don't want to ruin it. The important thing is that the narration of the book is seen through her eyes. Because of this, we spend a lot, and I mean a lot, of time on her feelings and how she is reacting to things around her. From a guy's point of view, this can be quite taxing because guys don't think that way. To that end, I think female readers will enjoy the story more. I think Konstanz has a wonderful imagination and for a debut novel, she did a wonderful job with the fantastic elements. Although I agree with the statement that "we must suspend our disbelief to be entertained" (especially when it comes to paranormal stories) there are certain elements of human behavior and logic that can't be glazed over or ignored. I was drawn out of the story when Christina bought a house for her boyfriend and had it furnished in one night. If there were paranormal elements at work then maybe I could have accepted it, but that wasn't the case. A second issue was when her "soul mate" figured out she was a demon and was completely cool with it. I think this was a missed opportunity for some compelling conflict that could have made their relationship deeper. I was a bit uneasy how "deeply" Christina fell in love with someone she is discovers is her soul mate, after all, she is only seventeen. I felt the ending and the climax was a bit rushed. Again, there were great chances to explore the conflicts introduced, but they were resolved pretty quickly. To be fair, I'm not really the target audience for this type of book. Still, I think if I would have given it a higher rating if I wasn't distracted by the issues I noted above. I think Konstanz Silverbow has talent and promise of being a writer and encourage her to keep writing!

Love, love, and love this book so much!
By Jocelyn
What to say first? Well, first off, I love this book! It was brilliant and captivating! From the start, I've been a fan of the author. She is not only a kind person, but a excellent writer. When she dreams, she dreams far and beyond. She has the heart and ambition to go far and I believe she has a bestseller on her hands.
This book begins introducing us to the main character of this book, Christina. Christina is the only demon left on earth but, despite being a demon, she isn't evil. Actually, she doesn't even want to be a demon. She hates what she is and wishes she can be normal and have the life normal people have. To have a boyfriend. To be kissed and hugged by someone she loves, who loves her back. To put it simply, she desires to be a human. She craves light, rather than darkness. Love, rather than hate. Overtime, with the help of her new friend Finn, Christina will learn that there is more to herself then meets the eye. And that, sometimes being different, is not always a bad thing. Along the way, she might even find love. Someone who will love her for her, and not care what, or who she is.
This is an amazing book!! I loved the characters and I seriously loved the plot and the unique twists and turns in the book. It was a real page turner. I was lost in this book for hours! I can't wait to read more from the author! I really recommend this book to everyone! It's amazing!
*Note to self: Stay the heck away from Unicorns!! They're creepy and evil!*
Some of my favorite quotes:
"I can't help but watch, longing for that kind of love. To feel someone else's lips against mine. To feel the power in a kiss. To know that I am wanted.
To love and be loved. Emotions course through me, feelings I didn't know existed. One of them I know well: jealousy. That is a feeling that is familiar to me. My heart aches every time I feel that stab of longing."
""You're a vampire with a broken nose and broken teeth for the rest of all eternity. You have to admit, it's kinda funny. And really, you should've just shown your face instead of attempting to be mysterious. Because look where that got you."
"The hardest part is watching you fall in love with someone else."

Good and shows promise for the author in the future
By Sabina Bundgaard
I truly enjoyed reading this story about a girl wanting to be more than darkness, she wanted to be light. Quite impossible when you're a demon. Or so one would think.
I believe in soulmates, in your one true love. I also know that just because you've found the right one, it isn't just kisses, sunshine and rainbows.
This story is about darkness, light, love, loss, hope and fear. It is a story about believing in who (and what) you are, to accept the person you are and live your life.
For seventeen years Christina has been alone, believing she was evil. In a very short time span, she discovers more truths about her life, herself and her family - and finds her soulmate. Honestly, it would most likely drive anyone insane.
But Christina isn't allowed to enjoy what she has before everything is ripped away from her again, but this time she is ready to go to war to get back what is hers.
The story flows easily, and I did enjoy reading it. I'll have to admit that I was getting to a point where I was getting tired of all the tears. I understood why, but at the same time, I just wanted her to stop crying every damn page. That is my main complaint really. All those tears. Not that I don't understand why she keeps crying, but at the same time... It got to be too much.
There is also a little about Christina and Finn's "shared" past. I was actually afraid that would run in the wrong direction, but luckily Konstanz closes it before it can be too awkward. Well done. Had she chosen to push it a bit further, it would've ruined too much, in my opinion.
Otherwise a good, interesting plot, characters that was likeable, the story flowed good without major hick-ups.
